4/30 AM Day 1 from South Bend Indiana.

We are sitting at lunch right now, tech inspection is over and all of the decals are on the car. Harry's fine eating habits continue as he started with Banana...not bad right?.... Well from there we were back to the old Harry. It's 1:00 pm and he has had A Sausage Biscuit from McDonald's, a Bratwurst, a huge Cheeseburger, chips, baked beans, 2 brownies and 2 peeps! It is going to be a long day!

The day started off with a trip to the Chevrolet dealer to replace a wheel bearing. Just what we needed, Drama! Gates Chevrolet in South Bend hooked us up and we are on our way again after $403 in repairs. Better safe than sorry I guess. this afternoon we have a driver's meeting and then Harry is driving the first event, the wet skid pad. The sprinklers are on and we are ready to go. Harry has never done this sort of thing before, so this might be interesting!

Watch for video and pictures tonight on the website! Even with the problems, we are having a blast.

4/30 PM From Harry's Seat!

I've been working diligently updating photos on the web site for the last couple hours here in the car and just got off my 15 minute break (which is mandated by state law). My neck is starting to hurt because we do not have the appropriate ergonomically correct accommodations in this car. I really need a desk in here.

The first official day of One Lap was a Blast! It was everything I hoped it would be. We started out filling out form after form (I thought they were IQ tests but Brian says they were waiver forms). We were then issued sponsor stickers and applied them on the car. The car was tech inspected and the official tires were verified and marked with the yellow Good Year letters. It was sunny, warm and a little windy but we managed. The drivers meeting was informative, the people were great and the food Tire Rack cooked us for lunch was awesome! Thanks guys!

I was piloting the first event, which was the wet skidpad event at 5pm on the Tire Rack grounds. The idea is to go around as fast as you can counter clockwise two times...then turn around and go clockwise two times as fast as you can...all while being sprayed down by a strong sprinkler system and trying to keep all four wheels on the ground! My years of ATV riding and sliding cars around in the snow had finally paid off!

Please keep the emails coming! In response to a few emails:
Sheryl, I DO realize that fitting in the Corvette is a necessity, but typing on the computer, and talking cars all day is very exhausting...and I need fuel.
Rebecca, you are pregnant. I do not expect to get pregnant on this trip. I am not sure to what you are referring.
Joe O., of course you will recognize me when I get back, I'll be the good looking Greek in the One Lap shirt!

Please visit the web site www.OneLapForDogs.com for great pictures and video often! We update it often.
